Maurice Thorez Hall
Description
The Maurice-Thorez complex, built in 1967, is part of a larger range of sports facilities in Nanterre. We can mention the town’s Olympic swimming pool and leisure activity pools, its Health and Sports complex, dance complex, its six specalised sports facilities, and the town’s Municipal Sports Services. Following extension work carried out in 2015, the basket-ball complex can now host 3,000 spectators for professional club matches, in compliance with French Bastketball Federation regulations. The venue is host to the town’s basketball team, Nanterre 92, which now boasts, in its impressive haul of trophies, that of European Champions (2015 and 2017), the French Championship (2013) and the French Cup (2014 and 2017). The facilities are there, in readiness for an optimal Olympic preparation, carried out in a multisports complex with opportunities for the practice of other sports and other activities.
