Description

Angers, chosen as the number 1 best city in France to live in (Express, 2019), and recognised as the top green city in France since 2014, is located 1hr 20 minutes away from Paris Montparnasse station by train: https://www.angers-connectezvous.fr/

Thanks to its many parks and green spaces; the river Maine which flows through the city; the neighbouring Loire river and its high quality infrastructures; Angers is the ideal city for practicing sports and hosting large-scale sporting events. Angers is the 1st city in France to be awarded the 4 laureates of the Ville Active et Sportive label in 2018. The multidiscipline Monplaisir centre is located right by Angers city centre and the train station (15mins by car).

Monplaisir sports centre is currently undergoing renovation and extension works (will be finished for September 2022). With a surface area of 5500m2, it will have 6 training rooms. The sports centre will have a ground floor, sports hall with fixed seating of 957 seats and a specialised table tennis hall with 18 tables. In addition, upstairs there will be a martial arts room, 2 dance rooms, a boxing room, a bodybuilding room, a multisport room as well as an administrative hub (meeting rooms, offices), a reception area (conviviality, hall, refreshment bar) and an outdoor activities centre and an outdoor sports hub.

You can reach the sports by public transport (bus).

Close to Angers University Hospital and three clinics (Anjou, Saint-Léonard and Saint-Joseph).

This centre will host training courses, as well as national and European tournaments. Several high-level clubs will use Monplaisir sports hall : Loups d’Angers (table tennis – Pro A), Roma (Boxing – regional championship) and Union féminine Angers basket professionnal club (Basketball womens’ Pro B).
