Description
The Aar sports complex comprises :
two grass football pitches – the Aar stadium and the Canal stadium. The first one mentionned hosts official National 2 matches. Both stadiums have two grandstands of 300 to 400 seats.
one synthetic football pitch with rubber infill particles.
one pitch certified for blind football.
In all, this sports complex features twelve locker rooms, one weights room, one sauna, one club house of more than 80 m² and a meeting room.
Notable : during the next three years, the grandstands will be entirely renovated and/or arranged differently. The implementation studies are being made. The layout plan has not yet been approved.
Special features
The sports complex is located in front of the tram station « Futura Glacière » on the tram line B. It takes less than 5 minutes on foot to reach the closest hotels.
The tram line B leads you to the city center of Strasbourg in 20 minutes.
There are many more hotels and restaurants in the vicinity of the complex.
Known for
The Aar stadium regularly hosts games of the French blind football team, as well as French Championship knockout phase matches. Moreover, it hosts games of the local club’s first team of blind football competing in National 2.
The 2022 World Grand Prix will take place in the Aar stadium from August 26 to September 4. The eight world best teams will participate in this international tournament of blind football. It will involve more than 120 athletes and gather more than 400 spectators together per match.
